Toyota brought an enduring and endearing message of love and togetherness to cross-cultural audiences for the 2020 holiday season.
“The Journey” shares a unified message of family bonding with a unique visual approach featuring the Toyota RAV4 at the center of the storyline. Created entirely through CGI to overcome production challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the commercial was directed by Mateus De Paula Santos and the director’s duo known as Alton (comprising Felipe Machado and Tiago Marcondes). The commercial also features an original song, “Here for you,” written and performed by singer/songwriter Stacey Walker.
Produced in both Spanish and English, the “The Journey” premiered during the Thanksgiving Day Parade and on Sunday Night Football. It was recognized among the top ten most impactful holiday commercials of 2020 by Ad Age and ten best holiday ads of 2020 by Campaign magazine.
