Mexican fútbol star Alexis Vega and Burger King teamed up for "Love or Whopper?", a campaign rooted in a universal truth of fútbol: when a goal is scored, the celebration becomes part of the story. In today's game, few celebrations are more recognizable than the heart-hands gesture—a symbol embraced by players and instantly understood by fans around the world.
We saw something else in that iconic pose: it looked remarkably similar to the way people hold and enjoy its signature, flame-grilled, new-and-improved Whopper. By turning that simple observation into a playful challenge, we transformed an existing piece of fútbol culture into a debate fans couldn't resist joining.
Targeting Latino fans, as well as casual and FOMO-driven viewers, the campaign cut through a crowded fútbol landscape by showing up loud, relevant, and unapologetically confident.
